What is interventional psychiatry?
Interventional psychiatry uses advanced, evidence-based procedures to treat mental health conditions that have not responded to medication and therapy alone. At Mind Spa, that means Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), ketamine infusion therapy, and hard-sided 2.0 ATA hyperbaric oxygen therapy, layered with medication management and trauma-informed therapy into one plan.
What conditions does Mind Spa treat?
We treat depression, treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, anxiety disorders, OCD, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and acute stress and adjustment disorders. We have a deep specialty in veterans, active duty service members, and first responders, and the same care is available to civilians, who make up a large part of our practice.
Do I have to be a veteran or first responder to be treated here?
No. Mind Spa is veteran-owned and we specialize in caring for the military and first responder community, but our treatments are open to everyone. A large part of our practice is civilians dealing with depression, PTSD, anxiety, and TBI.
How is TMS different from antidepressants?
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation uses targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate the areas of the brain involved in mood, rather than working through medication. It is FDA cleared, non-invasive, requires no sedation, and you drive yourself home afterward. It is often used for depression that has not responded to medication.
Does insurance cover treatment at Mind Spa?
Mind Spa is in network with Tricare, the VA, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Medicare. Coverage varies by plan and treatment, so our team verifies your benefits and reviews your expected costs with you before treatment begins.
Does Tricare cover TMS?
Tricare covers TMS for qualifying patients, generally after a history of antidepressants that have not worked. Mind Spa handles the prior authorization process for you and confirms approval before treatment begins. Eligible plans include Tricare Select, Tricare Prime, and Tricare Reserve Select.
What is Path4EMS?
Path4EMS is a Colorado state grant that helps pay for confidential mental health treatment for the state's EMTs, paramedics, firefighters who hold an EMS license, and their families. Mind Spa is an authorized Path4EMS provider.
